I have spent thirty years in the travel business. A large part of that time went into building my own company — and since our customers have always come to us through the internet, I had to learn a second trade alongside travel: online marketing.
A lot has accumulated over those years. Approaches that work, mistakes that cost money, and lessons you simply cannot learn any other way than by doing. Keeping it all in my head started to feel like a waste — and that is exactly why this site exists.
What I will write about
Mostly about the things I work with every day:
- bringing artificial intelligence into everyday business practice,
- online advertising,
- UX and design,
- and occasionally something personal — whatever I happen to be working on.
If you run an online business or work in travel, you should find things here that you can put to use yourself.
Why now
The honest answer: because of artificial intelligence. I consider its arrival a bigger event than the industrial revolution was. And I believe it will lead to a great devaluation of human intelligence — not in the sense that people will get dumber, but in the sense that intelligence as such will no longer be paid as well as it has been. What will keep growing in value instead is creativity — and the people who have it.
